A Service of Praise and Worship
Pastor: This is the day
the Lord has made!
People: Let us rejoyce
and be glad in it!
*We Gather
Singing:
“Immortal,
Invisible, God Only Wise” P. 103 UMH
1.
Immortal, invisible,
God only wise,
in light
inaccessible hid from our eyes.
Most
blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty,
victorious, thy greatness we praise.
2.
Unresting, unhasting,
and silent as light,
Nor
wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
Thy justice
like mountains high soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
3.
To all, life thou
givest, to both great and small;
In all life
thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom
and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither
and perish, but naught changeth thee.
4.
Thou reignest in glory;
thou dwellest in light;
Thine
angels adore thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we
would render: O help us to see
‘tis only the splendor
of light hideth thee.
Welcome
Greeting
Children’s
Time: Grandma Carolyn
A Time of Prayer:
Hymn:
“Spirit Song” P. 347 UMH
1.
O let the Son of God enfold you with his Spirit and
his love.
Let him fill your heart and satisfy your
soul.
O give let him have the things that hold
you,
And his Spirit like a dove will descend upon your life
and make you whole.
Refrain:
Jesus, O Jesus,
come and fill your lambs.
Jesus, O Jesus, come and fill your
lambs.
2.
O come and sing this song of gladness as your hearts
are filled with joy.
Lift your hands in sweet surrender to his
name.
O give him all your tears of sadness; give
him all your years of pain,
And you’ll enter into life in Jesus’ name.

Pastoral Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer:
Our
Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive
us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
*The Apostles
Creed: P. 882 UMH
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only
Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy
Spirit,
Born of Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius
Pilate,
Was crucified, died, and was
buried;
He descended to the dead,
On the third day he rose
again;
He ascended into heaven,
Is seated at the right hand
of the Father,
And will come again to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy catholic church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurreciton of the body
And the life
everlasting. Amen.
*“Glory Be to the Father” P. 70 UMH
Glory be to the Father and to the
Son and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning is now, and
ever shall be,
World without end. Amen.
Amen.
We Hear the Word
Hymn: “Wonderful Words of Life” P. 600 UMH
1.
Sing them over again to
me, wonderful words of life;
Let me more of their beauty see, wonderful
words of life;
Words of life and beauty teach me faith and
duty.
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful
words of life.
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful
words of life.
2.
Christ, the blessed on,
gives to all wonderful words of life;
Sinner, list to the loving call, wonderful
words of life;
All so freely given, wooing us to heaven.
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful
words of life;
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.
3.
Sweetly echo the gospel
call, wonderful words of life;
Offer pardon and peace to all, wonderful words
of life;
Jesus, only Savior, sanctify forever.
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful
words of life
Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.
19 That
Sunday evening the
disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the
Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. 20 As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side.
They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! 21 Again he
said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am
sending you.” 22 Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are
forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.
24 One of the
twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. 25 They told
him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he
replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my
fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”
26 Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time
Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was
standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and
look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless
any longer. Believe!”
28 “My Lord
and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.
29 Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you
have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
30 The
disciples saw Jesus do many other miraculous signs in addition to the ones
recorded in this book. 31 But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing
in him you will have life by the power of his name.

*"Bind Us Together” P. 2226 TFWS
Bind us, together, Lord, bind us
together
With cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us, together, Lord, bind us
together, Lord,
Bind us, together in love.
There is only one God, there is only
one King;
There is only one body, that is why we
sing.
Bind us, together, Lord, bind us
together
With cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us, together, Lord, bind us
together, Lord,
Bind us, together in love.[ii]
